Turkmenistan plans to plant 3 million trees in 2014 | |
3 million tree seedlings will be planted in Turkmenistan in 2014. The corresponding resolution was signed by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at a government meeting, reported Turkmenistan.ru. The document prescribes ministries and department of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat city administration to provide planting of 1.5 million seedlings of deciduous, coniferous, fruit trees and grapes near the capital. Tree planting of another 1.5 million seedlings will be carried out by regional administrations of Turkmenistan in their territories. The Ministry of Nature Protection of Turkmenistan has been entrusted to provide large scale greening activities, and control the tree planting in the country. The President stressed that a comprehensive planting program has been designed to transform the country into a flourishing region, contribute to solving problems in the field of environmental protection and create favourable conditions for citizens' lives.
